Tiff Guilding presented a talk on 'A Consideration of Music' in Mount Nimmel Hall.
Members present:
Dave Straton, Guy Drummond, Julien de Jager, Wal Mayr, Steve Davis, Tiff Guilding, and guest Nelson Wockner.
The Hall was set up with a table laid in the centre, with the big screen and sound system. It worked well. Tiff provided two courses for everyone.

Lunarticks' chosen pieces of music
Dave Straton (“Learn to be still” by the Eagles)
Guy Drummond (“A rainy night in Soho” by The Pogues)
Steve Davis (“Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin)
Wal Mayr (“Heart of Gold” by Neil Young)
Nelson Wockner (“One of these days” by Pink Floyd)
Julien de Jager “Brass in Pocket” by the Pretenders
Tiff showed three clips to capture distinct emotions/aspects of music:
Melancholy backdrop to colliery closure grief and anger: Brassed Off - Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez
Tribal passion as Liverpool masses take over the MCG: "You'll Never Walk Alone"
The spectacle of an ugly duckling metamorphosing into a swan as he sings “Don’t stop believing". The clip powerfully resonates with the song title. School Janitor Leaves EVERYONE Speechless with his VOICE on AGT 2024!
The uplifting nature of community singing: the evening closed with the Lunatics joining “The Tokens” and singing “Lion sleeps tonight”
